In Spring 2026, we’ll be taking on the Shitbox Rally, driving a 2003 Holden Commodore from Adelaide to Darwin over seven days. It’s going to be long, uncomfortable, and a lot of fun, but the reason we’re doing it is far more important than the drive itself.
A few years ago, I was given this car for free by a mate at a time when I wasn’t doing particularly well, and it made a huge difference to my life. Suddenly I could get to work without relying on buses, see friends more easily, and get a bit of normal life back. That simple act of generosity really stuck with me.
This old Commodore has already changed my life once, now we’re hoping it can help change things for someone else.
I’ve also lost two grandparents to cancer, and that experience helped shape why we wanted to support Cancer Council through this rally. Now that I’m in a better place, this feels like the right opportunity to give something back.
We’re aiming to raise $7,000, with every dollar going directly to Cancer Council to support vital cancer research and services. Any support, big or small, genuinely makes a difference, and we’re incredibly grateful for anything you’re able to contribute.
Thank you for helping us turn a rough old car into something positive.

Gladia Racing are fundraising for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
Directly to Cancer Council.
Box Rallies is the largest funder of cancer research in Australia — outside of the government. Every dollar supports Cancer Council.
